Kermit Easterling: NEWS

Kermit's a Dad - January 18, 2007

Hello to everyone! If you haven't heard yet...I'm a Dad!

Irelyn Grace Easterling was born on January 11, 2007 at 10:16 in the morning. She weighed 7lbs. 11oz.

She is a beautiful bundle of joy. She is doing very well so far, eating and sleeping and is a very curios child (much like her father). Mom is doing well and we are slowly getting adjusted to being parents.

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted but our internet was down at the house and is just now back up and running. I will have some pictures posted shortly.

Also, we are playing tonight at the V-Cafe in Knoxville. Little Irelyn won't be there, but you can still come and see me.

Take Care!
The New Dad,
Kermit

"It is only when men begin to worship that they begin to grow." - Calvin Coolidge

effacement and is lacking in any self-consciousness." - Geoffrey Thomas

"Worship, then, is not part of the Christian life; it is the Christian life." - Gerald Vann

I admit that I am not always the best at posting updates on my website. I always have good intentions and then all the sudden it's been several weeks. I've determined that there is never really enough time in a day. I used to try and make everything fit, but you will burn yourself out if you keep that up too long. Eventually, you just have to accept the fact that you can't get everything done you want to do and save it for another day. It's now another day so:

I wanted to thank everyone who came out to Grounded for our CD Release show. We had a blast and have recieved rave reviews from everyone who picked up the CD!

We are playing several places this week. Friday night we will be up in Powell at Grounds & Sounds and then on Saturday we will be back at Grounded. Come by and see us!!!!!

Again, we are in the process of booking shows, so if you have a place you would like us to play, let us know.
Peace & Love,
Kermit & the Band

The Pursuit of Passion - October 12, 2006

"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions."
Alfred Lord Tennyson
English poet (1809 - 1892)

**************************************
What is your dream - your passion? Music has been mine for as long as I can remember. I am happy to be living my dream. I admit that it really doesn't look the way I imagined it, but it is my dream nonetheless. I am excited about the opportunities that are presenting themselves. Each day brings something new. Today I spent several hours in a studio in Nashville practicing for Florida. It was just a good day doing what I love!!!!
I posted some new pictures from today for your enjoyment!
Pursue your passions & dare to dream!

Italy, T-Shirts, CD's & More! - September 29, 2006

"The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."
- Bertrand Russell

****************************************
I am back from Italy; we got back late Tuesday night. It is good to be home, but I admit that I miss being in there already. I really enjoy the European culture. Over there, downtown is still downtown. The grocery stores, the shops & restraunts are all located right in the heart of the city. Every one is gathered all in one central spot. You can always find someone to hang out with and talk too. The streets are filled with artists and street performers; you can just sit outside and enjoy the evening. I guess now that I am home I will just have to enjoy my late night trips to Wal-Mart instead!

I will post more stories and pictures from Italy in the weeks to come so check back often!

Now for other news….the new album, “Worship @ Crossroads” should be arriving at my house in the next week or so. If you have not heard yet, I posted some songs under the “Music” section. More will be coming soon. I will also be posting chord charts in the near future for all who would like to use these songs in their worship.

I have some new T-Shirts now available. These are not available on-line though, so you will have to come out to a show to get one!

So, you ask, when exactly is the next show? We are working on scheduling some shows here in the local area so keep checking the calendar. We are trying to put together a CD release show too.

If you are interested in having myself, or the full band come and play at your house, your church, your youth-group, small group, family reunion, etc., let us know. Send me an email; we would love to play any chance we get!

Guess that is all for now. Remember to enjoy life. Take the time to smell the flowers and to be amazed at the little things. Do not be afraid to just dream and enjoy the moment!

With a song and a smile,
Kermit

Quick note from Italy - September 23, 2006

For all who did not know, I have been in Italy for the past few weeks. It has been an incredible time!

Presently I am in Florence where I will be spending my next few days until I come home next week. I just returned from Positano, which is a coastal town on the Mediteranian Sea. It rained our first few days there, but then cleared up and was absolutely beautiful. I am now sporting my original Florida tan again!!!! Prior to going to Positano I was in Rome. It is amazing all the history that is there. Did the typical tourist thing and went to the Colisium, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and many, many more places. It is wild to be driving down the street and just see these ancient ruins all over the place. Our first night there, we came across this one area of ruins that was a cat sanctuary, so there were all these cats running around the ruins. Pretty wild! Well, I gotta run, just wanted to give a little update. I will post pictures and stuff once I get home. Also, the new album will be ready next month!!!!!

Take care & remember to smile!

A Taste of New Music - September 6, 2006

"If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what is the significance of a clean desk?"
- Laurence J. Peter
****************************************
Well, I definitely fall under the cluttered desk catogory. My office looks like a bomb went off in it, but there is good reason. My worship album is now finished...well sort of. I have done my part & it is now being manufactured and should be ready for the public sometime around the begining of October. It will be titled "Worship @ Crossroads". For your listening enjoyment I have added one of the songs under Music, so go check it out and tell me what you think!!!

Happiness in Change & Change is a Baby - August 14, 2006

"The secret to happiness is this: Let your interests be as wide as possible, and let your reactions to things and persons that interest you be as far as possible friendly rather than hostile." - Bertrand Russell, British philosopher

"The happiest people are those who seem to have no particular reason for being happy except that they are so." - William Ralph Inge, British prelate and theologian

----------------------------------------
The world around me is constantly changing and it makes me smile. I'm not one to just sit around, because I get bored rather easily. I like change. It sparks my interest and keeps me feeling young.
I am amused by the simple things. I love wandering around the toy departments and playing with all the stuff. I am just as entertained now as when I was a kid. I guess it if you get down to it, I still am a kid, I just have to shave alot more often!!!!

Well, on to the BIG STUFF.

I now have a new reason to wander around the toy section. My wife, Kristen, is pregnant with our first child!!!! She is a little over 19 weeks along. We found out last Wednesday that we are having a girl!!!!! I am so excited! I'm looking forward to the adventure of raising a child.
I admit that at times it is a little scary to think about, but what new adventure isn't scary. Isn't that what makes it so fun in the first place?

I guess the scariest part about the whole thing is this: Can you picture me as a Dad? - Crazy, huh?!

************************************

In other news, I am about finished with my worship CD. One more trip to the studio should do it. I'm in the process of working on the album artwork and all that stuff that you don't really think about having to do. Hopefully the album should be out sometime around the first of October. (It would be sooner, but I will be out of the country for most of September - lucky me!!!! I am going to Italy!!!!!)
In the middle of October I will be playing at a Missions Festival at Westside Baptist Church in Gainsville, Florida. So, if you happen to near there you will have to come and visit.
Guess that's all for now, sorry it's been so long since I have updated my news. Hopefully after I get back from Italy & Florida we will start scheduling some more shows. So, if you would like us to come and play somewhere, please let me know!!!!!
With a song and a smile,
Kermit

Curiosity - May 16, 2006

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has it's own reasoning for existing....Never lose a holy curiosity." - Albert Einstein
**************************************
I love to learn, to explore, to dream, to imagine, to dive into the unknown. People throw away all sorts of interesting things that are broken and I constantly pick them up. I love to take these things apart to learn why they no longer work and to try and fix them. I often fail in my attempts to fix these things, but I have fun just the same. I love to challenge my mind to think beyond the normal day to day things that I think about. I appreciate people who aren't afraid to look at things in a new light. People who challenge and push you to be more and to know more.

This past Friday, we did a live recording of all of my worship songs. I had such a wonderful time doing it. I had the priveledge of playing with some incredible musicians and singers. It was through there help and many others that pushed me to do this and for that I am extremelly grateful. So in the not to distant future I will have a new CD to release. I will keep you informed. Take care.
Dare to dream, to question, to explore, to challenge, to live!

The Pain of Freedom - February 14, 2006

"Confusion is always the most honest response."
- Marty Indik

************************************
It's a crazy, crazy world we live in and I am desperate for answers. Answers to the deep questions - the questions that don't have an answer. Those questions that are dark and complexing that make you seem like you are smart and intelligent when really you are just scared and confused. It's a terrifying thing to admit that you don't know. In fact, it can be the scarriest thing in the world. I have a friend who is scarred. She is desperate for the truth, but is terrified of what the truth might bring. There is often pain in freedom, but once that freedom comes it is the most wonderful thing in the world!

Enjoy the Moment - January 31, 2006

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
- Bertrand Russell
**************************************
Sometimes we get so caught up in living life that we don't take the time to enjoy it. This is my challenge for both me and for you. Take the moment to look at the stars, to study a piece of grass, to blow bubbles with your straw, and all the other things you did as a kid. Those were happy times when things were always so exciting. I dare you to get back to that. Quit focusing so much on living life for a moment and take more time to just enjoy it!

The World Is Changing - January 17, 2006

Okay, just in case you didn't read the front page, I am in the process of updating the site. Keep checking back often to see how it evolves. Also, for your enjoyment, I am going to start posting stuff again. So, unitl then.....
